While it is highly suggested that a child begins to potty train at no later than five months old, it is still possible to begin potty training a 3 year old. The technical term for a ‘late starter’ in potty training is six months. While it is obviously a difficult journey to train a child, training a late starter can be a very unique challenge, bringing a need for different perspectives and planning.
